OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2008. In agricultural enterprises of “Siberian agrarian holding” (SAHO) group in Rostov region harvesting campaign has finished.

According to the Department of agriculture of the holding, by the very beginning of August winter wheat was totally threshed here.

Launching of state-of-the-art farming technologies on Rostov fields by the holding enabled to improve yield in comparison with previous years. In the season-2008 this indicator for winter wheat and spring barley in SAHO enterprises in Rostov is at the level of average indicator in the region.

In the nearest future grain growers of Rostov are to harvest also sunflower and crops which are new for the holding-bean and lentils, they were sown on experimental fields in spring.

Harvesting campaign started in subsidiary agricultural holdings of SAHO in Central and Privolzhsky federal districts in the beginning of August. Average yield on Tula fields of the holding is 23–25 centners per ha, yield of winter wheat in some farms reaches 37.5 centners per ha. This year Ulyanovsk agricultural holding “SAHO-Agro-Ulyanovsk” harvests crops for the first time. Average yield on fields which have not been cultivated for many years is expected to be 21 centners per ha. Grain growers are to harvest crops on the fields of SAHO in Novosibirsk region and Altai Territory. Winter crops here started to be threshed in the first decade of August and spring crops are to be harvested approximately on the 15–20th of August.
