Ukrainian Banks Will Not Decrease Interest Rates on Mortgage
OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2008. "Due to inflation, crisis of liquidity, all banks of Ukraine have increased their interest rate on crediting programs of individuals. The banks also will not change the interest rate int the nearest future", - Elena Alferova, the Head of mortgage crediting department of OJSC "RODOVID BANK".
According to the expert of RODOVID BANK, taking into account anti-inflation measures that were taken by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the banks probably will cut their terms of crediting of mortgage programs. "Mortgage credits are paid by the borrowers less than for 10 years. Some borrowers formalize loans on a term of 12-25 years because they cannot confirm their incomes in a documentary form, but refund loans in a short terms", - Elena Alferova said.
Due to crisis of liquidity, the banks pay much attention for potential borrower quality.
