OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2008. Latvijas dzelzcels celebrates its 89th anniversary. To mark this event on August 6 in Latvian Railway History Museum there will take place a ceremony, in which the best workers of concern Latvijas dzelzcels will be given awards, reported the press-centre of Latvijas dzelzcels.

Recognition awards from the Ministry of Transport, Honorary awards from SJSC Latvijas dzelzcels (LDz) and valuable prizes – watches with engraving and Recognition awards from the Chairman of the Board of LDz will receive 36 workers of concern Latvijas dzelzcels.

For the second time there will be given Year award to an outstanding railway researcher or practical worker for the great work or life contribution to rail transport of Latvia, and to a prospective new expert of Latvijas dzelzcels – master, doctoral student or a researcher for research in the rail transport sector. This tradition was established last year.
