OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2008. Rosatom State Nuclear Power Corporation gave start to open contests among young composers and pianists of closed administrative territorial districts and satellite-cities of nuclear power plants

The contests are being held on the initiative of the Public Council of Rosatom in the framework of the Territory of Culture of Nuclear Power Industry program.

The key objective of the contests is to raise the social-cultural level of closed administrative territorial districts and satellite-cities of nuclear power plants, to support local children’s music and art schools and to popularize classical music.

The young composer contest will be conducted in Ozyorsk, Tryokhgorny, Snezhinsk, Lenoy, Novouralsk, Zelenogorsk, Zheleznogorsk, Seversk, Sarvo and Zarechny, the young pianists contest – the above cities as well as the satellites of the Russian nuclear power plants.

The contests will be held in Oct-Dec 2008. The application deadline is Sept 15 2008.
