East Moscow Overcomes Difficulties to Become Green
OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 August 2008 was announced, that a new 50-ha city park is to be created in Kozhukhovo township, east Moscow, in the short run.
“A project aimed at creating a small-scale park, 50 ha, will soon be implemented in Kozhukhovo township,” Nikolay Evtikhiev, prefect of the eastern administrative district of Moscow, said.
According to the official, the municipal authorities jointly with Department of Natural Resources Management of Moscow are clearing up a woodland park in Izmaylovo township and Terletskaya oak-grove.
“Many works of such a type are stopped because of the absence of draft documents on designing areas. Even the planting of trees is impossible without design documents,” Mr Evtikhiev noted.
The prefect added that the first step in solving this problem was the evaluation of a design of Sokolniki park. “The consideration of the stated issue was postponed in December 2007. But the project is to be approved conclusively in October 2008,” Mr Evtikhiev emphasized.
