Sibirtelecom Bundles Services Under New Brand Twist
OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 August 2008 was announced, that Sibirtelecom OJSC launches a complex service under the ‘Twist’ brand and transfers to the new principle of service provision – service bundling.
‘Twist’ is a qualitatively new packet of services that is intended for the segment of mass customers. It will provide subscribers with the broad band access to Internet and interactive digital television.
‘A segment is being formed on the market that is ready to simultaneously consume several services: mobile communication, Internet access, telephony, providing content and digital TV. Sibirtelecom tries to satisfy this demand by providing specific offers of bundled services’, - says Alexander Isaev, General Director of Sibirtelecom OJSC.
Some fundamental changes are starting on the marketing field of the Company. It tries to not only provide a channel for data transmission, but to also satisfy subscribers’ demand in content. The first step on this way was creation and development of content centre Sibnet.ru, the second step – offering interactive television service to customers.
‘Twist’ is a service of other quality and possibilities in essence. These possibilities will be expanded, - answers Alexander Isaev. – In addition to the wide choice of TV channels of digital broadcasting (up to 64), Sibirtelecom will offer the customer such services as ‘Video on demand’, ‘TV-mail’ and many others. In the future, ‘Twist’ subscribers will be able to use a big range of interactive services such as watching videofilms at any time that is convenient to them; storing content with the goal of its further individual watching; choosing various languages of the accompanying sound; the service of virtual cinema, etc. We start to master a new segment, that is why we are introducing a new brand. Its ideology reflects modernity of the technology, dynamic character and our stake on active Internet users in Siberia.’
Before ‘Twist’ entered the Siberian market, Sibirtelecom did a lot of serious commercial and technical work. Counting on the development of one of prospective business lines, broad band access in Internet, the Company increased speeds in popular non-limit tariff plans up to 2 Mbit/s, decreased tariffs for Internet access, consolidated the billing system, improved its servicing. The personnel of the technical support service increased 5 times. The Company started realizing an end-to-end system of customer services around the whole Siberia with single information services, Web-portal, call-centre.
During the first stage the ‘Twist’ service will be available in two cities of Siberia – Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk. By the end of 2008 its geography will expand to the whole Siberian Federal District.
