OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2008. For Jan-Jul 2008 domestic trade turnover in Azerbaijan exceeded USD 7.242 bn at the rate by August 1 that makes up 77.1% of the 2007 trade turnover (AZN 7.6 bn. or USD 99 bn.).

The State Statistics Committee reports that domestic commodity turnover for Jan-Jul totaled AZN 5.86 bn with 15.2% growth compared to the 2007 same period. Legal entities provided 15.6% of trade turnover, fairs and markets 45.3%, and sole proprietors - 39.1%.

“Turnover on foodstuffs rose by 10.4% up to AZN 3.809 bn and on manufactured goods by 27.9% up to AZN 2.052 bn,” the Committee reports.

For Jan-Jul volume of paid services to the population made AZN 1.719 bn (rise: 29.4%). Individual employers provided 20.6% of services and legal entities 79.4% with rise of 7.7% and 36.5% respectively.

Over 250,000 legal entities and individuals dealt with trade and services for Jan-March 2008.

At the same time this July’s trade turnover totaled AZN 904.5 million (+AZN 47.9 million against the June index), including on foods AZN 584.8 million (+AZN 60.5 million) and AZN 319.7 million (-AZN 12.6 million) on non-foods. Volume of services reached AZN 296.3 million with growth of AZN 24.3 million versus the June indicator.
