Azerbaijan National Bank’s Assets Grew by 10.66% in July 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2008. Assets of the National Bank of Azerbaijan grew by 10.66%, along with 27.26% decline of its capital in July 2008.
For Jan-Jul 2008 the NB capital reduced by 52.3% with rise of assets by 35.16% and in 2007 growth made 46.4% and 54.8% respectively.
By August 1, 2008 the NB had USD 57.92 million of loss on exchange rate by the reported date.
The NB has informed that as of August 1, 2008 NB’s assets totaled AZN 5.578 bn versus AZN 5.04 bn by July 1, and earlier record level for the whole bank history of AZN 5.16 bn by May 1, AZN 4.127 bn by January 1, 2008 and AZN 2.665 bn by January 1, 2007.
This July NB capital decreased from AZN 65.67 million to AZN 42.77 million. It made AZN 89.6 million even by January 1, 2008.
Capital reserves kept at the level of early 2008 - AZN 79.642 million as well as charter capital of AZN 10 million.
Dynamics of capital was linked with profit/loss of the Bank. Its profit of AZN 51.5 million by April 1 reduced to AZN 10.634 million by June 1, 2008 and its loss has almost doubled and reached AZN 46.875 million by August 1 – an absolute anti-record level for the whole Bank’s history.
In structure of assets there prevailed finances in non-resident banks – AZN 4.75 bn versus AZN 4.24 bn by July 1, AZN 3.3 bn by January 1, 2008 and AZN 2.019 bn by January 1, 2007 and balance on the International Monetary Fund’s accounts AZN 218.575 million versus AZN 223.157 million, AZN 220.613 million and AZN 227.310 million respectively.
At the same time investment securities totaled AZN 3.69 bn versus AZN 3.4 bn by July 1, AZN 332.756 million by January 1, 2008 and AZN 201.646 million by January 1, 2007.
In structure of liabilities there prevailed banknotes and coins in circulation AZN 3,412,050,000 versus AZN 3,160,794,000 by June 1, 2008, AZN 2.9 bn by January 1, 2008 and AZN 1.449 bn by January 1, 2007, liabilities to credit institutions AZN 380.515 million versus AZN 546.022 million, AZN 529.314 million and AZN 594.9 million, liabilities to the IMF AZN 287.786 million versus AZN 292.99 million, AZN 299.774 million and AZN 331.543 million, liabilities to state governance sector AZN 1.03 bn versus AZN 589.3 million, AZN 405.574 million and AZN 107.129 million respectively.
By August 1, 2008, NB’s liabilities on issued sold securities made AZN 132.075 million against AZN 127.469 million by July 1, 2008, AZN 251.082 million by January 1, 2008 and AZN 112.6 million by January 1, 2007.
For the reported period rate was AZN 0.8093 = USD 1.
