OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2008. This document regulates the organization and conduct of inspections and the preparation of final reports by employees of Rostekhnadzor’s inter-regional territorial offices for nuclear and radiation safety control.

The objective of such inspections is to check up the compliance of inspected organizations with the requirements for registration and control of nuclear materials and their preparedness to prevent possible problems. The inspections check up their work to register/deregister nuclear materials, to effectively control them, to carry out their inventory, etc.

The document regulates the preparation of plans of inspections specifying where and when they should be conducted and what they should check up.

If inspectors detect deficiencies they should issue special improvement notices specifying what should be done to eliminate the problems. They have the right to make delinquent organizations or officials administratively responsible, to issue recommendations for canceling their licenses and to send necessary materials to the police.
