ROSNO and ATOR Members Discussed DETOUR Situation

ROSNO office has hosted a meeting, where the top managers of the major tour operators TEZtour, VKO TRAVEL and NEVA, which are members of ATOR, and ROSNO representatives discussed possible measures that may used to resolve the situation and help the tourists who were affected by the DETOUR default, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
During the meeting initiated by the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), the insurer in detail explained the situation arising due to non-performance by the tour operator DETOUR of its obligations under the tour product sales contracts, informed about the statistics of tourist claims and ROSNO’s operating procedures applied under the insurance contract and laws of the Russian Federation.
Since the insurer’s obligations are limited by the insurance amount of 10 million roubles stipulated by the tour operator’s liability insurance contract concluded with DETOUR, while the total volume of damages already claimed to ROSNO by the aggrieved tourists exceeds 20 million roubles, the insurer and the ATOR members discussed the tour operators’ possibilities with regard to provision of preferential terms under the tour product sales contracts for the tourists aggrieved by DETOUR’s "disappearance" and left with no vacation.
Considering the social importance of the issue, tour operators have worked out the offers that may be used by the aggrieved DETOUR’s tourists — primarily those who, having received no insurance compensation due to the limited financial coverage, will still decide to go on vacation.
They may turn to the agencies TEZtour, VKO TRAVEL and NEVA and obtain discounts on the purchased tours. To this end, they must present a contract with DETOUR (or a copy thereof) to the agencies specified by the tour operators.
