OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2008. During the forthcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, ROSNO will be an official insurer of the Russian Olympians and partner of the Russian Olympic Committee, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

ROSNO and the Russian Olympic Committee are long-time partners. The company has traditionally insured the Russian Olympians, being a permanent official insurance partner of the Russian Olympic Committee since 1998. This year, ROSNO and the Russian Olympic Committee concluded a contract for accident insurance coverage of the Russian Olympic Team members who will represent our country during the Summer Olympics, to be held from August 08 to August 24 in Beijing.

This contract will be effective from August 01 to August 31’ 2008, covering the following risks: partial loss of working ability (injury), permanent and complete loss of general working ability (disability), and death due to an accident. The insurance amount is 100,000 US dollars per each insured member of the Olympic team. The contractual insurance covers all of the team members, including the Olympic champions of the previous years, world and Europe champions, as well as debutants of the Games.

Being a socially responsible company, ROSNO traditionally supports the national sports by rendering insurance services and offering special insurance programs to the sportspeople. The company has insured many Russian sporting clubs and teams, sports federations, and professional sporting leagues. Members of the Russian Olympic Team were provided accident insurance by ROSNO during the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, 2000 Games in Sydney, 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, 2004 Summer Games in Athens, and 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino.

"Provision of support to the Russian sports has been and will be a top priority in ROSNO’s social activities. Also, since 2006, our shareholder Allianz SE has been a partner of the International Paralympics Committee and the German National Paralympics Committee, supporting the German team athletes during their preparation for the Beijing Games. In my opinion, sport and business have much in common: being average does not bring you victory.

To win, you have to be better, faster, stronger, and never rest on your laurels. Seeking to attain insurance market leadership, ROSNO is especially aware of the importance of supporting sportspeople whose achievements strengthen Russia’s positions on the global sporting arena. I am confident that our clients will share our joy from the forthcoming victories at the Beijing Olympics", commented on this event Mr. Hannes Chopra, CEO of ROSNO and head of the Group of companies Allianz Eurasia.
