OREANDA-NEWS. On August 06, 2008 The Government instructed the UkrTransNafta to look for alternative variants of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline work in the direct regime. Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told, having referred to results of the yesterday's meeting of the Interdepartmental Governmental Commission on the issues of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline functioning in the direct regime.

"The UkrTransNafta was instructed to prepare other proposals on alternative suppliers of the resource, as well as to approach potential suppliers with a proposal to participate in the project", the minister stated.

According to Yuriy Prodan, work of the UkrTransNafta has been considered at the meeting. The commission members received draft agreements on oil transportation to western oil refineries via the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline, offered by the Privat Group enterprises. "At the end of next week, a current meeting of the commission will be held and the UktTransNafta will report on the work done", the minister said, having noted also that by this time the commission members will have to familiarize with the draft agreement from the Privat Group and express their proposals and remarks.
