OREANDA-NEWS. On August 06, 2008 Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko appealed to speed up work pace in liquidation of the disaster consequences in the West of Ukraine. She stated opening the Government sitting.

The PM of Ukraine told that 77 dams had been already fortified and 216 km of roads repaired in western regions of Ukraine.

As the Prime Minister noted, water supply had been already restored in all damaged settlements, except two, and people are provided with quality drinking water. According to Yulia Tymoshenko, to date only 3 settlements remain flooded which need extensive repairs of power networks and in all the rest, energy supply has been already restored.

She also says that recovery gas supply work in all damaged places is also conducted. “It means that the whole infrastructure of power, system of power is working and yields a result,” Yulia Tymoshenko underscored.
