OREANDA-NEWS. On August 06, 2008 Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko notified that she will dismiss governors of those regions which show the worst inflation indices next month.

She informed this opening the Government sitting. “If some region shows inflation against the background of the overall deflation next month –documents will be submitted for discharge of the relevant governor,” the PM noted. She also reminded that Government had set local authorities a task to subdue inflation during 7 months.

Yulia Tymoshenko told that 8 regions had “marred by their carelessness” the national inflation index in the country. According to her, the worst results of the inflation rate in July have shown Khmelnytskyi region – 0,5% and Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions – 0,3%. Inflation instead of deflation also have shown Kyiv, Volyn regions (0,2%), Poltava, Rivne and Ternopil regions.

Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that today there are no grounds for inflation. In particular, according to her, it is connected with landslide of prices for oil products. The PM addressed the heads of all regions “to follow example of those who can bring order to their regions”.
