OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2008. Alokabank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank issued almost 32,300 plastic cards and installed 463 terminals as of 1 June 2008. The bank said the growth rate of plastic cards made up 40% year-on-year and terminals – 19% year-on-year.

Balance on plastic cards made up 4.99 billion soums or 3.5% up year-on-year. The bank paid about 305 million soums as interests for plastic cardholders.

During five months of 2008, 11.798 billion soums were transferred to the cardholders' accounts, which is 3.3 times more compared to the first half of 2007.

Alokabank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank was established in line with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministry of Uzbekistan dated 12 October 1994. The bank was created to support economic growth and financial assistance to the enterprises the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information and small and private business.
