OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2008. As of July 25, 2008 currency reserves of NBM amounted to USD 1 billion 661,73 million, increasing by USD 17,95 million (1,1%) in compassion with the last week.

NBM informed about this, specifying that as of July 18, 2008, currency reserves of NBM amounted to USD 1 billion 643.78 million.

NBM currency reserves exceeded the historical maximum of USD 1.6 billion in the first decade of July 2008.

The former historical maximum of USD 1.5 billion was overcome at the end of June 2008 and the boundary of USD 1 billion - at the end of August 2007.

As of late December 2007, the National Bank reserves amounted to USD 1 billion 333.68 million. As of late of the I quarter 2008 they made USD 1 billion 424.29 million, and USD 1 billion 525.95 million as of late December 2008.

By the end of 2008, the Government planned to increase currency reserves up to USD 1.7 billion.
