OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2008. Mr. James  Pond  -  a representative of  the Transport  and  Energy  Directorate of  the  European  Commission, paid  a  visit  to  Lithuania. James  Pond  is  in  charge  of  the railway project  for  the  Baltic  States  -  Rail  Baltica, reported the press-centre of Lithuanian  Railways.    

The  project  is  being  financed  from   TEN – T ( Transeuropean  Transport   Network )   funds. James Pond  inspected  the  main points  of  the  future  Rail  Baltica  railway  line, stretching  from  Kaunas  towards  the  Latvian  border.

Officials  of  the  Ministry  of  Transport  of  the Republic of  Lithuania, of  the Directorate for Investments  and  JSC "Lithuanian  Railways" participated  at  the meeting with  the  EU representative.
