On July 31, 2008 Russian Standard Bank, Russia’s leading consumer lending institution and the issuer of American Express® Cards in Russia, announced the launch of the Membership Rewards® program for American Express Cardmembers in Russia, reported the press-centre of Russian Standard Bank.

Membership Rewards is one of the most popular customer loyalty programs around the world and is available in more than 50 countries worldwide. From August 1, American Express Cardmembers in Russia will be eligible to earn points on all purchases with their American Express Cards. Points can be redeemed for incredible rewards from the finest names in travel, shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Cardmembers in Russia will be enrolled automatically in Membership Rewards for free for the first year, and all American Express Cards are eligible for the program. There is no limit to the number of points Cardmembers can earn, and points have no expiration date.

Points earned by supplemental Cardholders count toward the primary Cardmember’s Membership Rewards balance. American Express Cards offer unparalleled services, such as travel insurance, service in 2,200 American Express Travel Offices all over the world, discounts and special offers and free card replacement within 24 hours in Russia and 48 hours abroad.

Gold, Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers have additional insurance that covers missing luggage, flight delays and cancellations. Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers have access to American Express’ 24-hour Concierge Service, and can use their American Express Cards for premium services, such as yacht and aircraft charters.
