Vladimir Karpov Appointed Acting Director General of Kolomensky Zavod
OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2008. The meeting of the Kolomensky Zavod Board of Directors adopted a decision on appointing Vladimir Yu. Karpov, a former Director General of the Tver-based Tsentrosvarmash Plant, acting director general of Kolomensky Zavod, reported the press-centre of Kolomensky Zavod.
Both enterprises operate as part of the Transmashholding Closed Joint-Stock Company.
The Kolomensky Zavod Board of Directors is expected to finalise the candidacy of a new director general on 1 September, 2008.

Vladimir Karpov was born in Ryazan on 22 December, 1960.
He graduated from the Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute with a degree in systems engineering in 1983.
He was employed as an engineer by the Plazma Gas Tube Research and Development Institute in 1984. In 1985 he was appointed chief designer of a number of research and development projects. He became head of the advanced developments bureau in 1989, and director of the pilot plant of the Plazma Gas Tube Research and Development Institute in 1991. In 1995 Mr. Karpov was appointed Director of the Plazma Production Centre.
From 2000 until 2007 he was employed by the Ryazan-based Machine-Tool Plant as deputy chief of the production department, chief of the production facilities development department, and director for production development and quality control.
Mr. Karpov has served as Director General of the Tver-based Tsentrosvarmash Plant since 2007.
Being the author of 25 patents, he was awarded a gold medal and a diploma of the international show for science and technology in Brussels in 2001.
Under the decision of the Kolomensky Zavod Board of Directors (minutes dated 25 July, 2008), Vladimir Karpov was appointed acting director general of Kolomensky Zavod starting 26 July, 2008.
