Power Machines Increases Capacity of Shakhid Montazeri TPP
OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 August 2008 was announced, that Kaluga Turbine Works (OJSC KTZ), which is a part of Power Machines, and Esfahan Power Maintenance Company, Iran, (EPC contractor) signed a contract for supplies of power equipment for Shakhid Montazeri TPP in Esfahan, Iran.
Under the terms of the contract KTZ shall manufacture and supply to the customer two gas expansion turbines of 8 MW each. The term of the delivery – 4th quarter of 2009. The price of the contract makes 1,8 million Euro.
Power saving expansion turbines (turboexpanders) are destined to convert excessive differential pressure of natural gas into mechanical power. This equipment will be installed at gas distribution points of Shakhid Montazeri TPP.
The expansion turbines are planned to be commissioned in the 3rd quarter of 2010. The turbines will help to increase the total capacity of the plant by 16 MW and provide Esfahan with more power.
