OREANDA-NEWS. On July 31, 2008 as it was informed in U.S. embassy of Moldova, the American diplomatic representation will provide food, water and essential goods worth USD 50 thousand.

Grant will be allocated to one non-governmental organization, which will acquire and distribute the products to those affected by the flood.

The most essential goods will be identified in cooperation with the government of Moldova. Russia will also provide humanitarian assistance to Moldova.

According to Russian media, the prime minister of Russia Vladimir Putin gave the corresponding instructions to the Ministry of Emergencies and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Assistance to the victims of floods in the form of 1000 tons of cement will be also provided by "Lafarge Ciment" (Moldova).
