OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2008. In I half 2008, the volume of transactions with the bank cards issued in Moldova, amounted to 5 billion 342.28 million leis (USD 549 million), increasing by 48.7 % in comparison with the same period of 2007.

According to NBM, the volume of transactions with the cards of the local payment systems increased by 1.4% - from 10.59 million leis (USD 1.08 million) up to 10.74 million leis (USD 1.1 million) and with the cards of international payment systems- by 48.9% - from 3 billion 580.26 million leis (USD 368 million) up to 5 billion 331.54 million leis (USD 548 million).

According to NBM, the volume of transactions with the Moldavian bank cards abroad has increased by 34.3% - from 261.43 million leis (USD 26.8 million) up to 351.08 million leis (USD 36.08 million) and the volume of transactions executed in Moldova using cards issued abroad- by 7.9% - from 592.73 million leis (USD 60.9 million) up to 639.85 million leis (USD 65.7 million).
