OREANDA-NEWS. On July 29, 2008 President Alexander Lukashenko met with Leonid Kozik, Chairman of the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions, who informed the Head of State on the state of development of the trade union movement in Belarus, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.

According to him, the trade union organisations that are subordinate to the national Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) are aimed at constructive work with the government. Over the last two years, the FTU set up more than 1,500 trade union organisations in the private sector.

Leonid Kozik gave the President an extended report on how vacation is organised for children and adults. He pointed to the increasing number of children recuperating in school camps in towns.

Alexander Lukashenko deems it inadmissible to continue to reduce the number of out-of-town recuperation facilities for children. Belarusians who live in the south of the country should have an opportunity to receive quality recuperation services out of towns. The President highlighted the importance of holding inspections of the existing recuperation facilities.
