2 Markets in Southeast Moscow Will Become Malls
OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 July 2008 was announced, that two markets located in Vykhino/Zhulebino township in southeast Moscow are to be converted into large shopping centres in 2008.
“Zhulebino wholesale and retail market as well as Vykhinsky market are to become large shopping centres in 2008 within the program by Moscow City Hall aimed at converting the markets,” Vladimir Zotov, prefect of the southeastern administrative district of Moscow, said.
The official added that a number of discount stores and the shops operating within the system called Social Card of a Muscovite would be increased considerably in southeast Moscow. In total 70 retail objects of such a kind are to open in the district in 2008.
According to Mr Zotov, this year 17 discount stores have been opened and 24 objects of consumer market have entered the system Social Card of a Muscovite, the owners of which can get a 3-5 per cent discount. The maximum number of the reopened retail outlets in southeast Moscow is in Maryino township – 5 discount stores and 4 social shops.
