OREANDA-NEWS. On July 25, 2008 Kazakhtelecom JSC (Astana), shares of which are traded in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) category "A" official list, provided to KASE the press release of the following content, reported the press-centre of KASE:

According to the data for 6 months of 2008, Kazakhtelecom JSC installed 128 038 fixed telephone line (FL)  sets, including city telephone network (CTN) - 93 877 units, rural telephone network (RTN) - 34 161 units.

For the reporting period persons on the waiting list of pervious years were installed about 24 th. fixed line, including cities - over 10 600, settlements - over 13 th. The portion of installations to persons on the waiting list from the total number of fixed lines installations for the first half of 2008 made up 20%.

As a result the number of fixed lines as of July 1, 2008 made up 3 175 336 units, including the city network - 2 431 536, the rural network - 743 800 units. According to the data the net FL growth for the reporting period will makes up 115 883 units.

FL density per 100 populations as of July 1, 2008 makes up 20.36 units, including CTN - 29.35, RTN - 10.17.

In whole as of July 1, 2008, the local telecommunications network of Kazakhtelecom JSC is represented by 4 145 stations (including more than 800 customer access multi-service blocks), out of them on CTN 1 474 ASC, on RTN - 2 671 ASC. For the first half of 2008, the total growth made up 142 stations, including rural network - 20.

In total as of July 1, 2008, the number of digital stations made up 2 732 units or 65.91% from the total number of ASC, including CTN - 1 407 (9545%), RTN - 1 325 (49.6%).

The positive indicators growth dynamics on installation of fixed line is conditioned by modernization and development of the telecommunications infrastructure, construction of the new generation NGN network, introduction of innovative technologies, fail-safe clients servicing system, and improvement of provided services quality.
