Russian Railways Holds Conference on Intellectual Property
OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2008. Russian Railways is holding a scientific and practical conference entitled "Intellectual Property - The Basis of Innovative Development", reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
As part of the conference, an exhibition entitled "The Idea of Russian Railways in 2008" is also being held in order to present new technology and technical solutions designed to improve the efficiency of the passenger and freight divisions of the Company, the technology of repairs and maintenance of rolling stock and track maintenance.
Among the exhibits are the GT-1main-line gas-turbo locomotive, the EP1M passenger electric train, the 2TE25A main-line freight locomotive, a freight wagon capable of bearing 27 tons per axle and the ER-2 electric train, which features an improved interior coach design and energy-efficient LED lighting modules.
The exhibition "The Idea of Russian Railways" is being held for the second time. Vladimir Yakunin, the President of Russian Railways, drew the attention of the conference’s attendees to the significant growth in the speed of rationalising the rail industry.
"During this year, rationalisation has increased by 10%, the level of rational distribution has rise and some of this could become inventions," said the President of Russian Railways.
