OREANDA-NEWS. Please note that starting from the 1st of August Latvia transfers to eight-digit numbering of its fixed telecommunications system: dialing a telephone number involves adding the digit “6” in front of it, reported the press-centre of Rietumu Bank.

Hereafter, when contacting the Bank via fixed telephone system, it will be necessary to add the digit “6” after the code of Latvia “+371” and ahead of the existing seven-digit number.

Therefore, Rietumu Bank’s information centre’s telephone number alters to +371 67025555 on the 1st of August.

At present, it is possible to ring Latvia via the new eight-digit telephone system – it is already functioning. However, it is obligatory to dial the digit “6” starting from the 1st of August 2008, when only eight-digit numbers will be valid in the fixed telephone system.
