Ryazan Refinery Completed Repairs of 5 Units
OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2008. The closed joint-stock company “Ryazan Oil Refinery Company” (Ryazan Refinery) has completed repairs of five installations – crude distillation unit AVT-2 and four lube units, the press service of the company said.
The press service representative stressed that the Ryazan Refinery has organized a service for planning major repairs.
“In 2008, the Ryazan Refinery worked out a new approach to major repairs according to a previously developed plan with every contractor knowing its part of the plan. The advantage of this approach is well-structured planning of time and repair works,” said he.
The press service representative specified that there was no accident at the refinery during the repair works that lasted for approximately 40 days. “Engineers worked at every repaired unit for ensuring health and safety during the works of the primary contractor. Apart from that, in every workshop, industrial safety engineers controlled the preparation and performance of repair works and timely detection of problems,” noted he.
The press service of the company added that the refinery is now carrying out the second stage of repairs of its production equipment, namely, the crude distillation unit AVT-4, reforming unit, visbreaking unit, and a number of other units. Diagnostics of the pipelines is next in line.
The closed joint-stock company “Ryazan Oil Refinery Company” is a subsidiary of TNK-BP established in 2002 by restructuring the open joint-stock company “Ryazan Refinery.” All property of the refinery was transferred to the balance of the Ryazan Oil Refinery Company.
