OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2008. During the first six months of 2008 ZAO Empils (Russia, Rostov-on-Don) manufactured 41,313 tons of paint and varnish, OAO Elaks (Ukraine, Odessa) — 8,178 tons and OOO Empils-Zinc (Russia, Rostov-on-Don) manufactured 5,500 tons of zinc oxide.

In the first half of the year the total volume of decorative coatings, manufactured by the company's plants, amounted to 49,491 tons (for six months of 2007 — 44,232 tons). Therefore, increase in production of paint and varnish of Empils constituted 11.9% as compared with the same period of the last year.

By the season of 2008, Empils has modernized the assortment line of decorative coatings and product package design. The brand portfolio was adjusted for the changed market requirements.

In the beginning of 2008 Empils brought to the Russian market Edvard Star decorative coatings line, earlier tested in the market of the South of Russia. Recently it has been expanded with the new product for the company — PVA glue.

The company's products of the middle price segment also showed good growth rates. Output and sales of Oreol TM products increased 20% as compared with the first half of 2007. Incremental steps of ТМ EMPILS which came out to the market last year constituted 207%. In 2008 ТМ EMPILS assortment line was expanded due to manufacturing of 10 new products types. The package design of TM Oreol and Rastsvet was modernized and color palette of TM Rastsvet universal enamels was expanded up to 30 colors.

In the first half of the year OAO Elaks, the Ukrainian plant of Empils also presented a number of new products in TM Uyut line and brand-new trade marks — Stroitel, Belka and Formula. Odessa plant of Empils has increased the output 62.1% in the first half of the year.

For 2008 Empils concluded agreements on decorative coatings distribution and sales with 180 trading partners. This number includes 99 distributors in the Russian Federation, 16 — in the countries of Central Asia and 65 trading partners in Ukraine, Lithuania, Moldavia, Belorussia and Georgia. Also in 2008 Empils directly cooperates with 47 international federal and local trading networks.
