OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2008. The companies of the Industry Ministry, which have been included in the privatization plan for 2008-2010, are ready to raise investment, the Industry Ministry told while commenting on the state-owned companies privatization plan approved by the government.

In line with the plan 52 companies of the Industry Ministry will be incorporated as joint-stock companies in 2008. These are the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), Minsk Engine Works, Minsk Vavilov Mechanical Plant, research production republican unitary company BELNIILIT Institute (Minsk), research production republican unitary enterprise Ekran (Borisov), research production republican unitary enterprise Raton (Gomel), republican production unitary company Izmeritel Plant (Novopolotsk), Baranovichi Auto Aggregates Palnt, Borisov Plant of Aggregates, Gomel Ponomarenko Plant of Starting Engines, Optik Plant (Lida), Mogilev plant Elektrodvigatel.

Some more 53 companies of the Industry Ministry will be incorporated as joint-stock companies in 2009. The largest are Belarusian Automobile Plant (BelAZ trademark), Gomel plant of agricultural machinery construction Gomselmash, republican design unitary company for grain and fodder harvesting equipment (Gomel), Integral affiliated enterprises, Central Scientific and Research Institute of Software Development (Minsk), Borisov-based “Avtogydrousilitel”, a number of other machine building enterprises all over the country.

Mainly machine-tool plants are to be privatized in 2010. Among them are Institute Belorgstankinprom Designing Company (Minsk), “MZOR” Machine-Tool Enterprise, Minsk Automated Lines Plant named after Piotr Masherov, Orsha Instrument Plant, Vistan Vitebsk-based Machine-Tool Enterprise, Tsentrolit Gomel Foundry, Red Warrior Orsha Machine-Tool Plant, a total of 14 enterprises.

The state shares of 40 former state-run enterprises turned private are to be sold in 2008-2010. Among them are Minsk Instrument Making Plant, Bobruisk Machine Building Plant, Brestmash, VolMet (Volkovysk), Vitebsk Instrument Making Plant, VIZAS Grinder Plant (Vitebsk), Machine Building Designing Bureau (Vitebsk).

The Industry Ministry numbers 340 companies that employ more than 270 thousand people.
