OREANDA-NEWS. On July 21, 2008. At its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a state program on reformation of housing and utilities infrastructure 2008-2012, Housing and Utilities Infrastructure Minister Oleksiy Kucherenko announced.

According to him, it is planned to earmark the budget funds of UAH 4 billion, by 1 billion for every year of the program operation (USD 1 - UAH 4,84).

The financing will be running through the funds attracted by payment for housing and utilities and tariff services. At the same time, it is expected to attract considerable proceeds from investment projects, as well as privatization of housing and utility sector.

Furthermore, the minister said that in 3-4 years the country is supposed to transfer to economically sound tariffs for housing and utilities services and create a regulatory agency to substantiate tariffs and regulate them with natural monopolies.
