OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2008. The Ukrainian Family, Youth and Sports Ministry waits for the signing of an agreement with a new general designer of reconstruction of the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex on July 23, Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko said at a briefing.

"In accordance with the approved plan, all operations should be conducted by July 23. This means that the contract will be ready for the signing by this date," he said.

Pavlenko said that the Cabinet of Ministers had backed the decision taken by the interim working group to break off any negotiations with Archasia Design Group and hold talks with other participants in the tender to reconstruct the stadium. "The work on signing contracts is currently being held," the minister said.

Pavlenko said that a general designer might also be a general contractor of the stadium's reconstruction. "[There might also be] another variant - another contractor can be chosen, but so that it can really cooperate with the general designer," he said.
