New Board of Directors of Bank Electronika Elected
OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2008. Two new independent directors have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Bank Electronika, increasing the number of independent members by one. As a result, five of the nine members of the Board of Directors are independent directors, which conforms to the best international practice in corporate governance.
Those elected to the new Board of Directors of Bank Electronika are:
Andrei Victorovich Zverev, head of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation, a federal government organization
Konstantin Vasilyevich Koltsov, first vice-president of BRED Banque Populaire (France)
Maxim Igorevich Lavrentyev, member of the Board of Directors of Metropolis
Vladimir Vitalyevich Romanov, chairman of the Management Board of Bank Electronika
Galina Semyonovna Uglina, senior vice-president of Bank Electronika
Maxim Valeryevich Scherbakov, managing director of Avrora Venchures Limited
Yuri Grigoryevich Fedoseev, department director at Russian Agricultural Bank
Alexander Mark Tschyrkow, member of the Supervisory Council of FIDEI (France) and managing director of Multitech Associates (Monaco)
Andrei Ivanovich Lukin, independent banking consultant (London), member of the British Institute of Directors and an associate member the ACI UK – The Financial Markets Association
“In expanding the number of independent directors, Bank Electronika is following the best practice of leading foreign financial institutions. We are entering international markets and want to be understandable and open to our partners,” said Olga Strakhova, Corporate Secretary of Bank Electronika. “The composition of the Board of Directors is virtually ideal when we consider the experience and professional qualifications of its members. The majority of the members of the Board of Directors are attorneys and economists, enabling the governing body of the Bank to work productively throughout its designated term.”
Andrei Victorovich Zverev, head of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Konstantin Vasilyevich Koltsov, first vice-president of French bank BRED Banque Populaire, were elected to the Board of Directors as new independent directors.
Andrei Zverev has worked for many years in high positions at state agencies and institutions and has experience managing large commercial organizations. In the early 1990s, Mr. Zverev was deputy minister of finance of the Russian SFSR and first deputy minister of finance of the USSR.
Konstantin Koltsov has worked for more than 30 years in the banking sphere. For much of that time, he has held management positions in banks carrying out operations in Europe.
