New Rubberized Asphaltic and Concrete Road Carpet for Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 July 2008 was announced, that an experiment on testing the new rubberized asphaltic and concrete road carpet is being run in Moscow.
“The test on a new asphaltic and concrete road carpet with the rubberized elements, due to which it isn't pervious to water, has been conducted during a year,” Andrey Tsybin, head of Department of Housing and Municipal Engineering and City Development of Moscow, said on July 16.
The official noted that such a road carpet was 15-20 per cent more expensive than common asphalt.
“However, it is much more durable and reliable. Already now we see that cracks hadn’t almost appeared on its surface over a year,” Mr Tsybin emphasized. He promised that the city authorities of Moscow would embed it on the streets in a year that would reduce a number of roadworks in the Russian capital.
