OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 July 2008 was announced, that more than 40 sports and fitness complexes are to be added to the kindergartens and schools of Moscow within the city program aimed at building the sports objects.

It is planned to add over 40 sports and fitness complexes to the existent kindergartens and schools in Moscow during 2008-2009.

Often the kindergartens and schools have neither a swimming pool nor a gym or these premises have been become obsolete and don’t meet the up-to-date requirements. For instance, the swimming lessons are being given only in one third of the schools in Moscow. In connection with this the deputies of Moscow’s State Duma suggested to train the students of primary and secondary schools to swim in every educational institution in the Russian capital. A 3-year program of mass training to swim has been elaborated in Moscow.

43 sports objects set to be commissioned in 2008-2009 are being currently designed. According to Vladimir Khaykin, deputy head of Department of Urban Design Policy, Development and Reconstruction of Moscow, there will be more of them in the city in actual fact. Now the department is selecting the sites to develop.

It was announced earlier that 51 fitness and sports complexes were to be built and commissioned in Moscow in 2008.
