OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 July 2008 was announced, that Selhozholding Ltd. (Romanovsky District, the Altay Territory), an enterprise integrated in the PAVA company, plans to finish development of the fallow lands next week. This part of the fields occupies slightly more than 10% out of the total sown area of the enterprise.

At present, works connected with shallow plowing are already done. Selhozholding mechanics are completing cultivation of a few hundred hectares. Part of the land cultivated in July will be allotted for sowings of winter wheat and rye.

Apart from operations in the fields, work which is just as important for the agricultural enterprise is now being conducted in the garage, where machinery is being prepared for the harvest campaign. At the moment, the administration of the enterprise estimates the combines availability at 50%. Basically, the motor mechanics are performing the current maintenance of the machinery. Starting-up and adjustment of the new imported combines and clippers is in progress. Until the beginning of the harvest, the mechanics have to learn how to operate modern agricultural machinery; therefore special training courses are arranged.

All preparation works follow the schedule and will be completed on time.
