OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 July 2008 was announced, that Astana akim (mayor) has been elected as Vice President of the International Assembly of Capitals and Big Cities (MAG). It was made public at the Capital’s of XXI century: innovation and traditions in architecture and town planning MAG’s Forum in Astana.

The Forum was aimed at summarizing experiences collected in the cities, demonstration of achievements in architecture and town planning, working out necessary recommendations in general problems’ solution. Today Astana is an example of the fulfillment of the most brave and innovative architecture and town planning approaches and hard task in practical realization of modern town planning and stable development, the press release says.

Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov is the President of MAG.
