Astana to Become First Central Asian Postindustrial City
OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 July 2008 was announced, that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev considers Astana to become the first postindustrial city in Central Asia.
All conditions for intensive development of high technological productions, services sector are being created in the capital of Kazakhstan. This will enable Astana to become the first postindustrial city in Central Asia, Kazakh President Nazarbayev said at a celebratory meeting devoted to the Astana’s 10th anniversary.
In the nearest future Astana in association with the largest foreign companies is expected to launch a number of new productions. In several years the city will produce modern automobiles, electric locomotives and even space satellites, the President stated. The construction of business infrastructure will continue and Astana will develop as a regional business center. It is planned to create a scientific-educational cluster, open theaters, museums, art galleries, health establishments. Astana will be a city of high standards, N. Nazarbayev said.
