OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 July 2008 was announced, that the RTM Group had started building ground floor columns of the shopping and entertainment center on Samara’s Fizkulturnaya Ulitsa.

Construction of the shopping and entertainment center started last December with the Turkish company Monotek acting as the general contractor. The six-hectare construction site is conveniently located at the junction of Samara’s three most densely populated administrative districts, Promyshlenny, Kirovsky, and Sovetsky. Population of the area within a five minutes’ drive from the SEC is nearly one hundred thousand people. The gross area of the future SEC is going to be 57,075 sq. m. The adjacent parking lot will offer 1,070 parking spaces.

"Although Samara’s retail real estate market is nearing saturation, the shopping and entertainment center we are building has all it takes to succeed, including proper location in a densely populated part of the city, great strategy and a strong pool of ‘anchor’ tenants“, stresses Vladimir Kireenko, General Director of JSC RTM Development. “The future center’s occupancy rate already exceeds 70 per cent“.

The lineup of anchor tenants at the SEC on Fizkulturnaya includes popular European and Russian chains: the food hypermarket Real, electronics hypermarket Media Markt, sporting goods store SportMaster, and the “Planet of Entertainment". Prelease agreements have been signed with all anchor tenants. In addition to the shopping mall and the cinema multiplex, the center will feature an entertainment zone that comes complete with a food court and a children’s playroom.
