OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 July 2008 was announced, that VNIIGAZ General Director Roman Samsonov was declared the winner of the “Man of the Year Awards” established by the Moscow Oblast’ Local Government. He was nominated for the “Sci-Tech Business Leader Award”. The ceremony was held on the Industry Day — a new professional holiday recognizing achievements of Moscow Oblast’ Industry Workers.

Established three years ago by the Moscow Oblast’ governor’s decree, the Industry Day is celebrated on the first Friday of July.

The official celebrations were held in Elektrostal’, which is one of the largest industry areas in Moscow region.

Apart from the Award Ceremony, the attendees watched a documentary film about the industries in Moscow region and explored the exhibition area with various products from local Elektrostal’ companies put on show.

The special guests invited for the occasion were representative of working and administrative contexts — Heroes of Labor, foremost workers, business leaders, local authorities, honorary citizens of Moscow Oblast’, and mass media professionals.
