Rosatom Takes Part in Emergency Response Exercise at NPP in Mexico
OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2008. The exercise is being held under the aegis of the International Atomic Energy Agency with the participation of 74 IAEA-member states and 10 international organizations. The key objective of the exercise is to implement the international plan of action for improvement of the international system of preparedness for and response to nuclear and radiation accidents. According to the scenario of the exercise, the trainees will respond to a “nuclear accident” at Laguna Verde NPP.
Russia is represented by Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation (senior experts of departments, experts and members of the Rosatom Emergency Committee, the Crisis Center of Rosenergoatom Concern, the centers of the Emergency and Rescue Service, the Crisis Center of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation); the technical assistance centers of the Nuclear Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences; the Federal Medical Bio-Physical Center; the Federal Information-Analytical Center of Roshydromet (Typhoon).
