OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2008. Latvijas Krajbanka, concerning about payment convenience and safety at the Song and Dance Celebration venues, during the Celebration will install 55 wireless Wi-Fi POS terminals, reported the press-centre of Latvijas Krajbanka.

Wireless POS terminal or card "acceptance device" will ensure a possibility to accept payment cards at big events quickly and efficiently. For the first time in Latvia such WI-Fi POS terminals will be used at XXIV Overall Song and XIV Dance Celebration venues  - in Mezaparks and Daugava stadium.

Until now all wireless POS terminals in Latvia were operating via mobile communication technologies (GPRS, GSM). This solution is effective in those venues, where there are no great musters and the mobile operator network coverage is stable. We have experience of how the mobile phone is operating at big concerts and other mass events - the communication is not stable and the one can rarely reach anyone just calling once. 

The new WI-FI POS is protected against those problems, for it does not use the mobile communications, but wireless network connection. Latvijas Krajbanka`s Wi-Fi POS terminals are very handy and reliable in use. Besides the standard security measures for WI-FI POS card terminals, an additional information encoding is ensured, thus, enhancing data security.

POS terminal is small, it has modern design, and the terminal is handy. It does not need any additional electricity or communication connection.

During the Celebration Latvijas Krajbanka will install 2 mini banks on the territory of Mezaparks and Daugava stadium, in which everyone will be able to receive the bank's employee services or use the ATMs for cash withdrawal. Also in those ATMs, for the first time in Latvia, the newest wireless Wi-Fi technology solutions will be used.
