OREANDA-NEWS. On July 08, 2008 Vietnamese delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam, Wong Tiu Liu, visited Uzbekistan. Within the visit, Wong Tiu Liu met with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Dilorom Tashmukhamedova, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz. 

During the negotiations the parties exchanged opinions on issues of cooperation between supreme legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Also they noted the successive development of relations between Uzbekistan and Vietnam in all the directions, including parliament.

“Collaboration between the countries is developing successively in all spheres,” said Wong Tiu Liu. “I got my education in Tashkent many years ago. Now I see the fact that your capital changed beyond recognition. It is obvious that the government has done a tremendous amount of constructive work during independence years, which points to continued potential growth of Uzbekistan in all directions. We are interested in further development of mutually beneficial collaboration with Uzbekistan”.

Members of the Vietnamese delegation also met with the Deputy Chairman of the Constitution Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bahtiyor Mirboboyev. During the conversation the parties especially noted the fact that at the initiative of the head of our state the authorized bodies successively implement reforms on liberalization of legal system, adopt a number of Laws and normative documents that meet the demands of time. Particularly, the Decrees of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, signed in August 2005 “On the abolition of the death penalty in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and “On transfer to courts of the right to authorize custody”, and adoption of Laws on their bases got a high assessment of world community.

Given documents, being a logical continuation of measures on further liberalization of legal system, serve to the process of building of legal democratic state in Uzbekistan on the new stage. And the work that is being implemented, in compliance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 1, 2008 “On plan of action devoted to the 60th anniversary of adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” is a continuation of large-scale reforms in building legal democratic state and strong civil society.

By the results of meetings, Wong Tiu Liu gave a high evaluation of large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan on the road of guaranteeing rule of law and social justice, protection of the rights and interests of citizens.

Members of the Vietnamese delegation also held negotiations in General Prosecutor’s Office and in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The exchange of opinions on development of mutually beneficial relations in legislation, law and order took place there. The participants discussed the current situation and prospects of collaboration between justice bodies of two states, issues of extension and consolidation of relations in the given direction, establishing experience sharing, educating the human capital and advance training of the specialists.
