OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 July 2008 was announced, that in Minsk started a motor rally of new MAZ pilot production models powered by YaMZ engines of Euro-3. The cars will be demonstrated to potential clients in 12 russian cities.

The joint MAZ and GAZ Group motor race was headed by the truck tractor MAZ-5440A9, the serial production of which began on Minsky motor-car factory in April 2008. The truck was first introduced on exposition “Interavto” in 2007, Moscow, where it won the prize as “The best heavy(-duty) truck”. The truck is powered by the latest GAZ Group model of diesel engine YaMZ-650. Its production (under Renault Truck license) started in the previous autumn on the new production space of “Avtodiesel” in Tutaev in Yaroslansky region.

Among participants of the joint Belarusan and Russian marketing action of producers there are production samples and other new models and equipment modifications:

- dump-truck MAZ 651A8 with engine YaMZ-6581.10

- dump-truck MAZ 5550A4 with engine YaMZ-6561.10

All the cars participating in the rally are powered by the engines complying with Euro-3 standards.

The 5 000 km rally will be held in 4 federal districts of Russia. There will 12 cities: Smolesk, Moscow, Vladimir, NN, Penza, Samara, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Ekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk and Novosibirsk. In every point of the race there will be a demonstration of the equipment and a seminar for potential customers.
