OREANDA-NEWS. On July 07, 2008 at Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant (Mikhailovsky GOK, a subsidiary of Metalloinvest Holding) the grinding-sorting factory was equipped with strain-gauge scales designed to weigh the plant’s iron ore production, reported the press-centre of Metalloinvest.

The scales are synchronized with the digital management system, thus allowing to optimize accounting procedures and quickly treat the incoming information. The director of Mikhailovsky GOK’s weighing equipment section, Anatoly Izotov, noticed that "the new equipment permits to take stock of the production volume with high degree of precision, thus allowing to optimize the technological process".

The launch of the strain-gauge scales at the grinding-sorting factory is implemented in the frames of modernization weighing equipment program at Mikhailovsky GOK’s. Lately, almost all the processing lines of the technological chain were equipped with electronic scales, namely – the pelletizing plant, the crushing facility at the crushing and preparation factory and recently – the grinding-sorting factory.

Mikhailovsky GOK is currently planning to install similar equipment at the shipment facilities of the crushing and preparation factory and the grinding-sorting factory.
