OREANDA-NEWS. On July 04, 2008 an international forum of agrarian economists - IAMO Forum 2008 - entitled "Agroindustrial Business: Global Changes - Innovative Solutions" ended in Germany. Participating in the event were also experts of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB), as UCAB informed.

The forum participants mainly dwelled on foodstuffs safety and quality control, standardization, international competition, influence of the market structure and various market factors on sector's efficiency.

International experts were especially interested in a presentation of Ukrainian agrarian expert Andriy Tovstopiat entitled "Vertically Integrated Structures in Agrobusiness of Ukraine: Contemporary Response to Global Market Change," held in frames of a special meeting dedicated to the new structures in agriculture - agro-holdings.

According to UCAB President Aleks Lyssytsy, there is no alternative to agro-holdings in agriculture today.
