OREANDA-NEWS. On June 30 the Press Center of the Nuclear Power Industry has started receiving works in the framework of its “Nuclear Renaissance In Pictures 2008” photo contest. The contest is conducted each year for professional photographers as well as for people for whom photography is a hobby.

This year we have the following topics:

— industrial facilities of nuclear power industry;
— types of industrial buildings;
— production process;
— nuclear power plant and nature;
— people working in nuclear power industry;
— environmental stories.

For participation in the contest you should sign in at www.atomfoto.ru and place the preview of your works. There you will find the detailed terms of the contest.

All photos should be digital. The application deadline is Aug 22. The results will be summed up by Sept 12. There will be awards for the top three places as well as the Audience Choice Award. The winners will be granted certificates and prizes. 

In late Sept 2008 the best works will be displayed at an exhibition to be organized on the occasion of the Day of Nuclear Worker.

Last year the “Nuclear Renaissance in Pictures” was conducted from Feb 15 till Apr 1 with over 500 works submitted. The winners were determined by a jury and online voters.
