OREANDA-NEWS. On July 03, 2008 as it was informed in the National Bank of Moldova, this growth is due to the increase in the balance of deposits in national currency by 367,3 million leis, or 2,8%, as well as the balance of deposits in foreign currency by 130,3 million lei, or 1,4%.

As of late May, the stock of at-side deposits made 6558,5 million leis, increasing by 67,9 million leis.

The share of at-side deposits amounted to 28,3% of the total deposits in the banking system, declining by 0,3 percentage points.

The amount of deposit accounts in MDL increased by 223 million leis, totaling 1607,2 million leis. This growth is due to increase in deposit accounts of individuals by 146.4 million leis, or 12,7%, as well as deposits of legal entities by 76,6 million lei or 33,6%.

As of late May, the balance of deposit accounts in MDL amounted to 9447,1 million leis, increasing by 245 million leis, or 2,7% in the result of growth of deposits of individuals by 204,3 million leis, or 2,6%, as well as deposits of legal entities by 40,7 million leis, or 2,9%.

In May, 2008, the balance of deposit accounts in foreign currency grew by 184,7 million leis, or 2,7%, reaching 7160,7 million leis.

In May 2008, the amount of deposit accounts in foreign currency amounted to 1379,1 million leis (\\$ 133,4 million), increasing by 251,2 million leis, or 22,3% due to the growth of deposits of individuals by 156,7 million leis, or 16,1%, and legal entities- by 94,5 million leis, or 61,9%, respectively.
