OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2008. At the end of June 2008, official reserve assets made up LTL 16,28 billion (EUR 4,7 billion or USD 7,4 billion). In June, they increased by LTL 1,06 billion, i.e. 6,9 percent, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

The increase of reserve assets was driven by increase in deposits of other MFIs with the Bank of Lithuania and external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania respectively by LTL 664,4 million and LTL 559,8 million, as well as an increase in currency in circulation by LTL 64,3 million.

Official reserve assets were pushed down by a decrease of LTL 193,8 million and LTL 38 million in the central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania and other factors, respectively.

Official reserve assets data for July 2008 will be released on 7 August 2008.
