Private Equity Investors Are Interested in Market of Baltic Countries
OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2008. An international conference "Buyouts and Venture Capital in the Baltics" took place in Riga, Latvia, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.
The conference was ensured by world scale conference organizer Marcus Evans which for first time enabled such kind of conference in Riga and brought together high profile speakers and well known participants of private equity market.
Partner Laimonas Skibarka from Sorainen Vilnius office gave a presentation on the topic "Utilising the Baltic legal and tax environment to your advantage".
The event was attended also by partner Eva Berlaus-Gulbe: “With both, the high profile of the speakers and the attendants from a wide range of countries as well as with the conclusions of the presentations and the discussions thereafter the conference confirmed that despite of the current situation in the economy of the three Baltic countries the private equity investors are highly interested in this market, are generally positive about the future prospects of the macroeconomic development, and, especially in mid and long term perspective, see this market as having a high potential for private equity investments. Several participants especially stressed the high potential of the Baltic countries being a starting point for both, the Western investors entering the Russian market and the Russian investors entering the European market.”
